Students who attend will learn customer service knowledge and mindfulness tools that can aid in providing more efficient and effective services while also minimizing burnout.
By implementing the knowledge learned in this course, students will be able to better care for themselves as they provide improved customer service to the public and the public safety personnel they interact with.

While also learning the science of why the work of public safety dispatching is so demanding and understanding the scientific research on the correlation between the nature of the stressful work and wellness. This course meets online via Zoom for eight consecutive weeks.
The purpose of this course is to provide public safety personnel with an understanding of mindfulness-based stress management.
Participants will learn mindfulness principles and experience a variety of meditation practices to access calm during stressful situations, reduce overall stress, and increase overall well-being.
Duration: 16 hours (2 hours weekly for 8 weeks)
