After some time away.
Content Warning: This post makes mention of the loss of a loved one.
Hi there! It has been a while since I last posted. The truth is all my projects were on placed on pause (including my much-anticipated podcast, which has now been slotted for December 2025).
The pause was the consequence of a tremendous loss in our family. The loss of a precious 14-year-old girl who I loved like one of my own. She was smart, funny, beautiful, and artistic. Her life was senselessly taken by fentanyl.
After her passing, for awhile, I was able to keep going, but then it became apparent that things needed to be put on hold. Heeding the advice I would have given to any friend, I took a time out, and after that much-needed time out, I am easing myself back into the work of Dispatch Wellness and the routine things that come with this beautiful experience called life.
More than ever, I am committed to sharing practices to increase our well-being, not because they are a magic pill that will make life's suffering go away but because well-being allows us to care for ourselves and for each other during times of loss (and during times of joy). More than ever, I continue to believe in the power of leaning on each other, spreading awareness, and having meaningful conversations that lead to growth.
My heart goes out to anyone grieving, and in case you need to hear this, it is OKAY to stop and take care of yourself no matter what projects need to be paused.
With love and gratitude,
Luz Martinez
